Filter cartridges developed to outperform the OEM replacements!

Mr. Fishy’s aquarium filter cartridges are constructed using two layers of blue or white polyester for double the filtering capacity, and an ample amount of professional-grade, pollutant-free, activated carbon to regulate the build-up of organics in the aquarium.

Most aquarist know that activated carbon is an effective method for removing suspended organics from aquarium water, but what they often overlook is its ability to absorb pollutants directly from the air around them. Why is this important? Well, many filter cartridges using activated carbon can be stored for long periods of time in unsealed boxes or packaging on the retail shelf or in someone’s eebay-storage unit. These cartridges are basically cleaning the air around them until they make it to your aquarium. Not only has their effectiveness been reduced, but they may also introduce those pollutants to your aquarium.

Mr. Fishy’s recognized this problem, and in 2002 introduced a sealed packaging method to their products. Today each cartridge is still individually packaged and sealed to limit environmental exposure during storage and transit. This is just another example of how Mr. Fishy’s cares about their customers.
